muru-D Singapore Hits The Road Again
We just wrapped a 2-month recruitment drive across Southeast Asia, looking for 10 awesome start-ups for our upcoming Cohort 3 in Singapore. We held 14 events in 9 cities across 6 countries, speaking with nearly 500 entrepreneurs.
Here are our highlights country-by-country:
VIETNAM
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh were our two stops in Vietnam with Monthida, Paul and Craig meeting with close to 100 entrepreneurs across 3 events. A special shoutout to 8bit Rockstars for hosting a jam-packed event for us in Ho Chi Minh and to AWS for joining us on this stop on the roadshow! Our congratulations also goes to ALOBASE, Doong and Wisami for winning the 3 pitch competitions hosted at each of our events in Vietnam. These 3 Vietnamese startups will progress straight through to our top 50 interviews. Overall it was great to see such awesome talent in Vietnam!

PHILIPPINES
With 3 action-packed events, things were definitely more fun in the Philippines. We managed to reach out to 130 entrepreneurs with thanks to Kickstarter, QBO and Launch Garage for hosting us. Shoutout to alumni Stash for coming down and chatting about your muru-D experience and a huge congratulations goes to Fetch and Gomoto for winning the pitch competitions and progressing through to our Top 50! It was great to see such awesome talent in Manila and we can’t wait to come back to the Philippines for Geeks on a Beach later this month. If you’re around, make sure you come say hi to Paul & Craig.
SINGAPORE
#ICYMI this year we also had a huge booth at Echelon Singapore. Entrepreneur in Residence, Craig Dixon also joined the panel on ‘How to Source and Develop Founder Friendly Investors’. Congratulations to SUP! for winning the muru-D roadshow Singapore pitch competition! SUP! now skips ahead to the TOP 50 interview round for admission to our next cohort. A huge thanks to our alumni Hafta, Sendhelper and Seechat for dropping by, sharing your startup stories and muru-D experience!
MALAYSIA
There were so many great teams pitching in KL that we couldn’t pick just one winner! So our first double-winner of the pitch competition went to BEAM and InsightzClub! A special thanks to Google for being awesome hosts and to alumni, Hafta for coming by to chat with the entrepreneurs. Also a special tip of the hat to The Co. for hosting our event in Bangsar on night 2. Congrats to BolehCompare for also winning the top spot at this pitch competition!

INDONESIA
Bandung and Jakarta were our two Indonesian city stops. A huge thanks to EV Hive The JSC, Coworking Space for hosting for one of our standout events of the roadshow with over 70 entrepreneurs joining us for this event in Jakarta!
Shoutout to AWS for joining us on this stop on the roadshow and congratulations to www.magisuite.com for winning the muru-D Jakarta pitch contest! Magisuite automatically qualifies for the TOP 50 round of startups applying for our 3rd cohort in Singapore.

THAILAND
Bangkok, you were swell! We wrapped up our last stop on the roadshow with a quick trip to Bangkok for Techsauce. Monthida and Craig got the word out there in a high-intensity panel on SAFE Notes vs. Convertible Notes vs Equity. Monthida was also invited to participate in the investor round table and as a judge for the pitch competition. Shoutout to The Launchpad for hosting us for our final stop and a big thanks to alumni InverstorZ for dropping by the event and sharing your muru-D experience with the entrepreneurs. A huge congratulations also goes out to our TWO winners of the pitch competition Ticket Melon and Vokabee!
