OpenLearning to list on ASX, beef up board

(From AFR – October 23)

Entrepreneur Adam Brimo is set to list his education technology start-up OpenLearning on the ASX, kicking off a roadshow this week to raise $6 million.

The company, which was founded in Sydney in 2012, provides a platform for universities and other educators to develop and run Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

Its listing comes 16 months after it raised $8.5 million from Malaysian companies ICT services provider Prestariang Berhad and education and property company Paramount Corporation Berhad.

Speaking to The Australian Financial Review, Mr Brimo said the company had now settled on its business model and the float would give it the exposure and transparency to win bigger contracts with universities and its government and corporate clients.
