muru-D Singapore are seeking two rock-star interns to join the team! There will be two part-time positions available supporting the muru-D Singapore team with program & operation management, marketing & communications and ad-hoc support for our network of startups, partners, mentors and investors.

muru-D is the global startup accelerator backed by Telstra, Australia’s largest telco. Our mission is to develop the best entrepreneurial minds in Southeast Asia, giving them the tools they need to solve the world’s most challenging problems. 

We do this through providing seed investment, dedicated office space, 6-months of acceleration services, access to amazing mentors, exposure access to experts from within the Telstra family and access to the region’s best angel and seed reputable investors. muru-D currently runs accelerator programs in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Singapore with staff in San Francisco. 

Our startups are solving lots of hard problems including: VR for Real Estate, IoT clean air, musicians platform, AI for English learners, psychometric data analysis and much more. We have founders from more than 10 countries including Singapore, Pakistan, Thailand, India, Malaysia and Indonesia.  

So, what about you?

  • You will have working knowledge of basic startup terminology and theory, and are driven to learn more about the sector
  • You have superior people skills and the ability to strike up a conversation with people from a range of industries, level of success and backgrounds
  • You have great organisational and market research skills
  • You have a passion for startup companies and technology that can change the world
  • You are driven to learn as much as possible to provide value for the portfolio companies
  • You are someone who undertakes projects on your own initiative and can make decisions on your own.
  • Most importantly, you must have a good sense of humour! 

It’s not necessary, but it’ll also be nice if you have:

  • At least one area of ‘over-indexing’, a strong talent, experience or affinity in something relevant to startups that you can bring to table, such as coding, marketing, growth hacking, or other specific industry specialisation
  • Experience working with startups of different sizes
  • Financial and strategic business literacy
  • The ability to speak more than one language 

Key accountabilities:

  • Program & Operation Management: You’ll need awesome program management skills, be happy to roll up your sleeves and support us in making sure muru-D processes are as perfect as they can be by:
    • Supporting all muru-D Singapore events, open house, and roadshow collaborations
    • Assisting with general administration and operations to ensure a smooth program
    • Ad-hoc program support as required by the muru-D Singapore team
  • Marketing & Communications: Your work will support us to become the best accelerator program not just in Singapore, but in the world.
    • Support in the management of social media and other marketing channels
    • Support with ensuring exposure of the program to relevant channels
    • Support for muru-D community of alumni, startups, mentors and investors on an as needed basis
    • Ad-hoc marketing support as required by the muru-D Singapore team 

This role is suitable for students that can commit 2-3 days per week for at least 6 months. A stipend of $500 per month will be provided to each intern. Free soft drinks too:) 

Applicants must be able to work and live in Singapore as we cannot apply for any visas for these positions.
